Open source

Many of our services are characterised by the open source idea. Open source software offers crucial advantages. But we are not the only ones who have realised this fact. A lot of important companies, governments, agencies and organisations work with open source software. Actively we contribute to the development of open source solutions and get involved in communities by software development, translations and quality management.

IST planbar GmbH supports directly:

• Dolibarr
  Dolibarr ist the only administration tool für small and medium-sized enterprises, foundations or freelancers that is based on a modular application and provides extensive functions. You only have to install those modules you actually need. Containing CRM as well as ERP Dolibarr enables management and review of purchase and sale, of production and of stock. Beyond that it facilitates the organization of contacts with a special administrative system.

• Enigmail
  OpenPGP encription and authorization for Mozilla Thunderbird, SeaMonkey and Trustedbird is provided by Enigmail. Enigmail contains the user interface, while the encryption itself is performed by GnuPG in the background. The functions cover automatic encryption and decryption together with a graphic user interface for the key management. Besides the operations that are done by GnuPG, Enigmail also is able to execute OpenPGP functions, for example the search of missing keys. PGP/INLINE and PGP/MIME are supported.

• Trustedbird
  Originally Trustedbird was a project of the french constabulary, that now has been made public. The branch of Mozilla Thunderbird is not only used in the British Telekom but also runs on more than 80.000 computers of the french ministries of financial and cultural affairs. Further the software is in duty of the closed e-mail system of the NATO.

• Database Modeller
  Database Modeller is an easy tool for creating entity realtionship models in different notations developed by Lukáš Lalinský.

• Mozilla Sunbird/Lightning
  Sunbird and Lightning are calendar applications with which you can coordinate your appointments and tasks. The software reminds you of important events. While Sunbird is an autonomous programme, Lightning has to be installed as an extension in your e-mail system Thunderbird, Seamonkey or Trustedbird to incorporate the calendar function into the interface.

• SumatraPDF
  SumatraPDF is an easy and free german open source PDF reader for Windows. The Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE) has launched a campaign to expedite the spreading of alternative reading software for the PDF format. SumatraPDF if one of the favourite recommendations of the campaign.

• MyNotex
  MyNotex is a free software for Linux useful to take and to manage textual notes, also a large number of them. The use a SQLite and the lack of the typical tree view structure to show the titles of the subjects and of the notes makes the difference to other note-taking softwares. This grants better strenght and speed with large amount of data. MyNotex is not only useful for personal use, but also to share many textual documents within a group or an organization.
